Rebedding in Serpentine

Possums regularly push ridge caps off trying to get into the roof, and once they're loose, the capping just gets worse. Rebedding means we pull the ridge cap off, clear out the old bedding material, and lay fresh flexible mortar that stays put even when possums push or the roof expands and contracts with temperature. We do this whenever the cap is loose or cracked. Most jobs run $1,800 to $2,800 depending on how much ridge you've got - the visit books out the day whether it's a few caps or the whole line. Properly rebed ridge capping keeps water out and stops possums getting into the cavity, which is a real problem in the Serpentine bush.
